Woo, it has been a busy couple of weeks. I did all kinds of running around last week between Western and the District Office to get my sub-certification and found out on Friday that I am officially certified to teach when my CT takes a day off! She is missing two days next week and two or three days the week after so I am stoked about getting paid for those days! I also took over two more classes so I am teaching and planning 4 out of 5 classes! I put in a lot of hours this last week and a lot of hours this weekend to get planning done so that I am ahead. Spring Break is coming up and I have students who are missing the whole week before and they've asked me for the materials before they leave. This requires a lot of extra time planning on my part to get two weeks ahead but it will hopefully meant that the next couple of weeks will be pretty easy.
Wesley came up to see me last weekend so that was fun. He got up here pretty late on Friday so we just hung out for a little bit before going to bed. On Saturday our plan was to get up, eat breakfast and then go swimming (Wesley's training for the IronMan and had about three hours scheduled for that day.) We got up a little later than expected, made pancakes for breakfast and then went to get ready to go swimming. Wesley realized that he didn't bring any soccer shorts to swim in so we decided to go find him a pair of actual competition swim shorts. After about 2 hours of driving around and looking (We went to K-Mart, the GoodWill, called around to Target and a couple other sporting good places) we finally found a pair for him at Big5 AND they were on sale...PERFECT! :)
We then headed to the pool and got our swim on! Wesley cut off a lot of time on his laps with his new shorts so he was really excited about that.
After our swim Wesley went on a run and I got some planning and other work done. When he got home we made tacos for dinner, brownies for dessert and just relaxed. It was nice :)
I decided that I needed to stay in Bellingham again this weekend to get all my planning done. After my long week at school, I ended it with working a full day, tutoring in the library after school, then going straight to the Shrimp Shack for the closing shift. I was exhausted when I got home but stayed up late anyway. On Saturday I got up and went for a bike ride down-town to visit my friend Kyle. Tatiana and I went back down there a little later to have Russian Dumplings at this place that Kyle works. They were AMAZING! They had meat or potato filled dumplings, (I recommend the meat). It was nice visiting with him and Janessa and Jordan who we just happened to see walking across the street. After that I got some planning in then later went and met some of my family (Rashelle, Lori, Lance, Cindy, Thomas, Maddie, Candy, her daughter Heidi and her bf Matt who was subbing in for the drummer) downtown at the Blue Horse Gallery where and awesome Reggae band called IYA was playing. I had a really good time and was really glad I got to see my cousin and the rest of my fam!
Today I woke up early to go for a little jog and then the rest of my day has been and will be devoted to planning. So much work but I enjoy it and I have even more motivation since it is sunny out and I am getting paid for it next week!
Until next time...
